  • Embodied Antiracism: Examining Whiteness for Equitable Activism

Embodied Antiracism: Examining Whiteness for Equitable Activism

Becoming an embodied antiracist is like learning anything new - it takes time and repetition. With increased practice, we get better at it. In this course we’ll take a closer look at examining why many DEI (diversity, equity, and inclusion) programs have had disappointing outcomes, and how opening up our hearts can help. We’ll experience the importance of ritual and collective mourning. We’ll hold one another up, turning our eyes inside: together we’ll begin our journey of looking inward when it comes to racism. Together, we will inquire, challenge, call in and call on one another. We’ll make progress towards our collective liberation.

  • Embodied Anti-Racism: A Mindfulness Way for Therapists and Helping Professionals

I invite you to join me for Embodied Anti-Racism, a new course that uses mindfulness principles and a body-oriented approach in the journey of becoming anti-racist therapists and helping professionals. Many of you likely have some understanding of somatic tools and the power of mindfulness practices. So it will be familiar to you when we use those resources to work with what comes up as we address racism in a deeper context. And we can all use this deepened awareness in order to offer our best to our clients—even if we don’t see many clients of color at the moment.

Embodied Anti-Racism

Consulting

Francesca’s work with executive leadership, in communities and with groups emphasizes issues pertaining to organizational, social and cultural trauma, as well as gender and racial equity. Organizations also can hold and carry trauma, and as such, face the same challenges in resolving it. Successful organizations aren’t afraid to lean into the introspection required to examine these issues within their own history and in the context of the outer world. They can benefit from the same introspection and intentional learning as individuals do.

Her signature workshop, From Hubris to Humility - Cultivating a Courageous Heart: The Intentional Path to Becoming an Embodied Antiracist Practitioner, Executive, Teacher, or Organization, can be tailored to your needs both in content and duration.

Francesca facilitates a coherent, experiential, embodied presence, and allows participants to integrate what they know and what they don’t know, holding space with a mindful, curious, and grounded lens.
